FAQs

  1. Do I need to purchase scanner software separately?
No, our software JMStudio is developed in-house and is free to use. It supports 8 major languages and includes features such as scanning, point cloud editing, intelligent point cloud optimization, multi-point cloud alignment, point cloud fusion, and export in OBJ/STL/PLY/ASC formats, among others.

  2. Is professional training required?
We offer comprehensive beginner guides, but many users can start scanning directly without them. The software provides clear scanning prompts, allowing you to focus on scanning without the need for complex parameter adjustments.

  3. Is applying markers necessary for scanning?
No, both Moose and Moose Lite use 3DMakerPro's visual tracking technology and do not require markers for scanning.

  4. Will color mode affect model accuracy?
No, color or mono textures are captured by separate texture cameras. The texture mode does not impact the quality of the geometric model.

  5. What's the difference between Moose and Moose Lite?

    • Moose: Supports color scanning, uses a blue LED light source, and provides higher accuracy and resolution.
    • Moose Lite: Supports monochrome scanning only, uses a near-infrared light source, and has a purple body.
  6. Can we directly 3D print the scanned models?
Yes, STL files generated by the scanner can be directly imported into all slicing applications for 3D printing.

  7. Can an NVIDIA 1060 graphics card handle the software?
Yes, an NVIDIA 1060 graphics card meets our recommended configuration. The minimum requirements are an Intel Core i5 8th Gen processor, 16GB RAM, and integrated graphics.

  8. Which operating systems are supported by the scanning software?
The scanning software is compatible with:

    • Windows 10/11 (64-bit)
    • MacOS 12/13/14
    • For mobile devices used to connect to Smart Grip: Android 10.0 or later, iOS 15.0 or later.
