The CreatBot PEEK (Polyetheretherketone) filament is a high-performance thermoplastic known for its exceptional mechanical strength, chemical resistance, and thermal stability. Often used as a lightweight metal substitute, PEEK offers superior corrosion resistance and durability compared to many metals and alloys.
This biocompatible, chemically inert material is increasingly popular in medical applications, such as patient-specific implants and surgical instruments, due to its ability to withstand sterilization and its FDA approval for food contact. For optimal results, PEEK requires specific printing conditions, including a high nozzle temperature and a cooling fan turned off to ensure proper crystallization. Recommended printing parameters include:
- Nozzle Temperature: 400–450°C
- Bed Temperature: 120–150°C
- Chamber Temperature: 70–120°C
- Layer Height: 0.1–0.15 mm
- Print Speed: 20–40 mm/s
- Cooling Fan: Off
